Lesson from Seminar on Innovation @ IE

Last week I attended a seminar at IE whose name was "Innovación en la Gestión Empresarial de la Pyme" (Innovation in SME's Business Administration) by IMADE's kindly invitation.
There it was an almost familiar atmosphere among all attendees due to, likely, the common need to gain knowledge about the environment and perspective of raising money for our businesses. We came mostly from IT, e-commerce, advertising, and biotechnology sectors.
From lecturers I took several notes as follow:

  • Need to rethink business models keeping in mind using technologies and talent scarcity
  • Develop and manage a robust business's financial model, in which cash flow be manageable
  • Define a corporate vision and develop a marketing plan aligned with this vision including tasks for getting knowledge from customers.
  • Take into consideration human resources are scarce and thoroughly planning and execution of selection process is necessary. Besides, is a condition candidates have values in common for being hired and exhibit determination, tenacity, and implication in the project.
So far, I have a shit load of work to do to achieve excellence in each of these four points.
